Sales + Lead + Quote Tool
Techversol designed and developed a complete browser-based 3D Furniture Configurator for a premium garage storage and workshop furniture brand based in Pennsylvania, USA, which has been in business since 2016. The client required more than a passive product viewer; they needed a fully integrated sales and marketing tool.
The final solution combined Next.js, Node.js, Three.js, and a custom Shopify app integration to deliver an interactive room-planning experience where customers could design their own garage or workshop layout, place and customize storage products, and submit a fully configured, quote-ready sales lead, all without leaving the browser.
This transformed a traditionally friction-heavy buying journey into a streamlined, self-guided experience that benefited both the customer and the sales team.
Garage furniture and workshop storage systems are considered purchases. Customers invest significant time evaluating size, layout, color compatibility, and storage capacity before committing. Before this configurator, the client’s buying journey was largely static, relying on product images, PDF brochures, and manual sales calls.
Techversol built a custom 3D furniture configurator that acted as a bridge between product discovery and sales qualification. Rather than browsing static product pages, users could interact with products in a realistic 3D environment, test different garage layouts, and assemble a configuration that precisely matched their needs and space.
The system was purpose-built for this client’s product ecosystem and sales workflow, not adapted from an off-the-shelf platform. This allowed the team to design custom logic for product rules, Shopify data integration, lead routing, and quote structuring that generic SaaS configurators could not provide without significant compromise.
We designed and developed a custom 3D medical equipment configurator from scratch, with reusable foundations that can support future white-label or multi-client expansion.
The application allowed users to configure specialized spaces using a library of equipment and room elements, then review those decisions through interactive layouts and quotation outputs.
Users designed their garage or workshop in a realistic 3D environment, placing and arranging products spatially. The room-planning experience answered the most common pre-purchase questions customers had:
• Will this product fit in my available space?
• How will multiple cabinets and workbenches look arranged together?
• Which layout configuration works best for my workflow?
• How much clearance will remain after placing the full setup?
The 3D configurator furniture supported close to 30 configurable products, cabinets, workbenches, drawer units, wall storage panels, and accessories: Each with granular customization options:
• Product sizing and placement within the room
• Drawer layout and internal organization options
• Cabinet door styles and combinations
• Screens, add-ons, and modular extensions
• Color and finish selection with real-time visual updates
• Worktop material and edge profile choices
• Rotation and precise repositioning within the 3D space
The depth of configuration meant customers arrived at the quote stage with a fully defined product selection, rather than a vague sense of what they wanted.
The furniture 3D configurator was architected as a lead generation engine, not merely a visualization tool. Lead capture was embedded into the configuration journey itself, collecting customer details at the moment of highest intent, while the user was actively engaged with real products.
The system captured:
• Full contact information (name, email, phone)
• Selected product list with SKU-level detail
• Complete room layout and configuration data
• Color, finish, and accessory preferences
• Quote request information and delivery requirements
This context-rich lead profile gave the sales team a meaningful head starts on every follow-up call.
After completing their room configuration, users could request a structured quote directly from the tool. The quote generation system compiled the selected products, configuration details, visual references, and customer information into a structured package, delivered instantly to both the customer and the sales team. This eliminated the back-and-forth typically needed to establish what a prospect actually wanted. Instead of starting a sales conversation from scratch, the sales team could review the configured quote and move directly to pricing discussion and closing.
The furniture 3D configurator was tightly integrated with the client's existing Shopify-based commerce ecosystem through a custom-built app, not a third-party plugin. This enabled real-time product data sync, pricing logic, and configuration-to-cart workflows that kept the user experience cohesive and the data architecture clean.
The solution was built on a modern, browser-native stack chosen for performance, flexibility, and deep Shopify compatibility:
Frontend application framework: SSR, routing, performance optimization
Backend logic, API layer, lead routing, and quote assembly
Room planner, product selector, lead capture, and quote flow interfaces
Real-time 3D configurator engine: rendering, scene management, interaction
Product data sync, commerce workflows, and cart integration
Zero download required, full experience delivered in-browser
At Techversol, we delivered the product as a team across product engineering, Unity development, full-stack development, and 3D production.
Together, we handled the system from the ground up, including product engineering, application architecture, data modeling, database design, configurator logic, equipment rules and constraints, PDF and quotation workflows, performance optimization, deployment setup, and 3D asset integration.
This was not a template-based build. It was a custom product designed around the client’s business process and long-term commercial use.

Established SaaS configurator platforms such as Roomle, VividWorks, and Threekit offer powerful out-of-the-box capabilities. However, for this engagement, a custom build was the right decision for several reasons:
The project was completed in 8 weeks by a focused, cross-functional team of four:
Building a custom product configurator furniture at this scope within 8 weeks required solving several non-trivial technical and design challenges:
The furniture 3D configurator fundamentally upgraded both the client’s sales and marketing operations. By enabling customers to self-serve through a fully interactive product experience before contacting the sales team, the tool improved lead quality, reduced pre-sales friction, and increased the commercial value of every website visit.
The 3D furniture configurator well-positioned for the following enhancements, which would further close the gap with best-in-class industry tools:
Techversol delivered a complete, production-ready 3D Furniture Configurator, on time, within an 8-week project cycle that functioned simultaneously as a product visualization tool, a lead generation engine, a sales qualification platform, and a quote generation system.
The result was not simply a feature upgrade to the client’s website. It was a fundamental change in how the brand engaged prospects online, communicated product value, and transferred context to the sales team.
For any brand selling furniture, modular storage, or customizable workshop products, a well-architected 3D configurator is one of the highest-ROI investments available in the digital sales toolkit, compressing sales cycles, improving lead quality, and turning a website from a brochure into an active sales tool.
